My Mind Is A
Universe
She said ‘5
minutes, I’d take forever’
Well you don’t
know me
But if you
did, you would see a Universe in my head
There shards of
colour live, a kaleidoscope twisting
Constant
whirring, mixing memories as waves tumble into one another
All is lost
and forgotten
Yet I hold on
tight, keep my brain intact
Whilst all
around me falls apart
Smells remind
me of a time that never existed
Nostalgia for
emptiness
Yet somehow
you have always lived in my head
A small
section that you own
Be wary, you
are entering a Universe
Nothing is
true or false
Nothing is
fact or fiction
Nothing is
black or white
I am a room
of unfolding treasures
You are the
bees knees
So mystical
like a sonnet
Or the Northern
Lights
Blurred lines
are smeared with eye shadow
Covering the
endless roads
Each thread
of a needle comes undone
Yet I am here
for you
Memory lives
here, somewhere
I cannot find
it
I keep
calling your name
Only now do
you hear me
