I imagined
tea and toast in the morning
I imagined
holidays in Greece
I imagined
keeping you warm
Turning you
on
I imagined
saying I love you
I imagined
driving at night
I imagined
running in the sun
I imagined
you in bed
I imagined red wine on the coast of Barcelona
I imagined playing with you in a cinema
I imagined you're head resting on my stomach
A picnic out in the middle of nowhere
I imagined
you with me
I imagined a
dream
A reality
Obscene
I imagined a
dream
I imagined
not waking up
I imagined me
reading to you
In the cold
ray of light
I imagined living
Whatever it
was
It was real
But you woke
up
Therein lies
the rub
A little too repetitive of that mundane phrase. Cut it down and heighten the language.
ReplyDeleteI think this is my favourite poem. I love the repetitive language and the beauty of the words....
